ChildGuard Passive Exposure Testing ChildGuard is a protective tool for children at risk in abuse environments. It can provide information about the child's environment for the past 3 months. What's more, ChildGuard is a simple-to-administer substance detection test that utilizes a sample of hair. Hair Testing What is hair testing? Hair testing analyzes the hair shaft, rather than body fluids like urine or saliva, to determine whether illegal drugs are present. Compared to analysis of body fluids, hair testing is highly resistant to evasion by adulterating or substituting samples, or by simply abstaining from drug use for a few days. What drugs are included in a standard test? Cocaine, marijuana, opiates (including heroin and oxycodone), methamphetamine, Ecstasy (MDMA), Eve (MDEA), and phencyclidine (PCP). |

EtG Alcohol Testing ODACS now offers ethyl glucuronide (EtG) testing. EtG is a direct metabolite of alcohol (ethanol). Its presence in urine may be used to detect recent alcohol ingestion, even after ethanol is no longer measurable. The presence of EtG in urine is an indicator that alcohol was ingested. EtG is detectable in urine for up to 80 hours after the consumption of alcohol. EtG is only evident when alcohol is ingested and is not produced as a result of fermentation. |
